Until a few days ago when a woman was named President of PepsiCo worldwide, Amparo Moraleda was the subject of many articles both in the financial press and in the normal press, regarding her unique status as a woman at the very top of the corporate world. She began her professional career at IBM in 1988, and moved quickly up the corporate ladder in positions of increasing responsibility and importance. In the late 1990’s she was appointed Executive Assistant to Louis V. Gerstner, President of IBM (1993-2001), then world V.P. of IBM’s Technology Integration Division, and finally in July 2001 was named to her present post as Regional President of IBM for the 5 countries listed above. Our guest speaker has found time in her extraordinarily busy work schedule to serve on the boards of numerous foundations and business associations, and has received various honors by her peers. She has a degree in Industrial Engineering from ICAI, and an MBA from IESE.
RSVP by telephone, fax or email to either of the undersigned no later than Monday, 25th of Sept. 2006. If you confirm your reservation and then do not attend, failure to promptly advise the Yale Club of your inability to attend can result in your being billed for the price of the event. Please heed this notice!
We look forward to seeing you at this gathering of the Yale community in Madrid.
