A world-wide operating bank has recently created a new business unit “Energy” as a strategic growth activity. By the end of 2008, about 50 new positions are targeted in decending order of priority: New York, London, Hamburg, Copenhagen, SE Asia, most of the positions by June 30th, 2008.
With existing and targeted customers and staff, the bank already counts among the three top global players (world-wide) in this field with a large volume of business and profitability.
Customers are primarily developer and energy generators (and utility providers). The product offer by the bank are complex project finance, merchant and investment banking products and cross-selling products.
ESCP-EAP graduates are a prime target thanks to their internationality and capability to quickly get acquainted with new business concepts and – environments.
There are two general fields of prior business experiences :
a) thorough understanding of the global and local market of (renewable) energies, especially solar and wind energy, but optimising efficient conventional energy as well in a cross-cultural context
b) experiences with innovative financial instruments and complex transactions; project finacne, structured finance/financial, M&A transactions, deal making, financial modelling,…
Depending on the various specific positions, the ESCP-‘EAP graduates should have 2-8 years of experience in one of the a.m. sectors, ideally in the combination “energy-finance”.
Your future challenge:
– sales, customer and profit-driven mentality to satisfy existing and acquire new customers (developer of and investors in solar and other energies)
– financial project and customer analysis, risk management, feasibilty and profitablity analysis
– structured finance, execution of complex project finance, portfolio management and analysis
– negociation of projcets, leading transaction team of internal and external professinals
